- Topaz | Cavalier Rescue FL
< back to home Topaz Donate Adopted! Meet Topaz , the sixth of the Treasured Ten pups. The gemstone topaz is a vivacious and multidimensional gem loaded with healing powers. Topaz is a symbol of love and affection with added properties that reflect one’s sweetness and disposition. Friendly, tri-colored Topaz is all this! Sadly, it was evident that Topaz missed out on kind treatment and would hide under a table or in her crate and feared being touched. Luckily those days are over and her future is shiny and bright. With the help of her loving foster family, which includes dogs, cats and children, Topaz is starting to come out of her shell and trust humans. She seeks affection, wags her tail and rolls over for a belly rub. Curious little Topaz loves toys! She piles them in her crate and sleeps with them. You might even find your sock in that pile – Topaz will hoard anything accessible, so a watchful eye is needed. This petite youngster is very active and athletic. She walks a mile a day, which is amazing since walking in a harness is new to her. Jumping up onto furniture and playtime are two of her favorite things. Topaz has come a long way in a short period of time. House breaking is going well considering that going outside is a new concept to her. She will need additional training as she adjusts to being a pet. Will sweet Topaz be the one to add some sparkle to your life? 🐶 Age: 18 months young 👍🏻 Weight: 15 lbs. 🐾 Circumstances: Breeder surrender, one of the Treasured Ten ❤️ Health: Topaz has been vetted and is general good health. She was treated for hookworms. She will be spayed. CRF microchips all rescues. 💸 Adoption Donation: $1200 🏡 Forever Home Requirements: ✔️ An active family, one who is home most of the time. ✔️ A fenced yard. ✔️ Another friendly companion to mentor. ✔️ Patient owners willing to allow Topaz time to warm up and adjust. ✔️ Commitment to additional training. ✔️ Lots of love and belly rubs. 💸 Adoption Donation: $1200 If you believe you, your home and lifestyle offer Topaz the things she needs, please complete an adoption application. About Cavalier Rescue of Florida Please consider supporting Cavalier Rescue of Florida in order to give our dogs a second chance. Your generous gift will give hope to those who have none. Contact us at adoptions@CavRescueFL.org Is Rescue Right For You? The bond you have with a rescue dog is truly special. Once they learn to trust and love you, rescue dogs are known for being fiercely loyal. Rescue pups are not perfect and many experience anxieties from having been abandoned, neglected, abused or suffered in puppy mills. Many times, rescued pups have lacked consistent medical care and arrive with health issues and sickness, further adding their stress and fear. Cavalier Rescue of Florida saves these sweet pups and provides love, home environments, food, socialization, medical care, grooming and spay/neutering for Cavaliers until a “furever” home placement is determined. Our custom adoption process is very thorough and best suits the needs of the dog. Our foster families have Cavaliers of their own, and love and understand the breed. Our fosters learn and evaluate their behavior and habits of the pup before CRF places them with adopters. Patience and love are always a prerequisite for caring and loving a rescue animal; a thorough understanding of this breed is essential in adopting from CRF. Contact us at adoptions@CavRescueFL.org Adoption Application Is Rescuing a Cavalier Right For You? It is very important to do research on this special breed! Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, especially rescues, can range in weight and size; not all Cavaliers are small. CRF does not guarantee their genetic history. Cavaliers are extremely people-oriented, social and very affectionate. They need to be with their family. Some people find them to be overly affectionate, so if you are not a person who likes a dog to kiss you on the lips, lick your ear, lie in your lap, lounge on furniture, or share your bed, a Cavalier may not be the dog for you. Their greatest joy is to be with you. CRF does not place our rescued pups in homes where they would be left alone a lot. Ideally a family member or other dogs would be home most of the day. Cavies generally get along well with other dogs and also cats. Keep in mind, small spaniels have fairly strong hunting instincts; so lizards, squirrels, gerbils, hamsters or birds, may not be safe Contact us at adoptions@CavRescueFL.org Adoption Application What Does It Take To Adopt a Cavalier From Us? After doing your research on a Cavalier rescue pup and you live or will travel to the state of Florida, we would love to find the right Cavalier for you. We do custom adoptions based on each pup’s specific needs, best interest and well-being. This is not a first apply, first to adopt process. We assess the dogs needs and requirements match to an applicant's home, lifestyle, etc. Since we have fewer dogs than we do applicants, we encourage you to complete our online Adoption Application and get pre-approved. You will need to provide personal and vet references in the form. Steps of adoption: Submitted application be to the wait listed for review. If you're an ideal candidate for one of our dogs, our Adoptions Placement Team will contact you. Next step, references will be checked and our CRF team will visit your home to meet with you and everyone living there. CRF will also check your home , garage, and yard to make sure you can provide a safe environment for a Cavalier. The adoption fee is paid when you pick up your rescue Cavalier. Adoption fees are based on the health and the age of a rescued Cavalier. The lowest cost of owning a pet is typically their adoption fee. Please consider the long term costs associated with owning a pet--food, ID tags, collars, leashes, veterinary care - including specialists, vaccines, emergency medical costs, professional dog trainers. When you adopt a rescue dog, you are agreeing to care for the pet's well-being for the duration of his or her life. xo Completing an application does not guarantee approval for adoption. Please be PATIENT , the process takes time. Adoption Application Adoptable Dogs Up

- Jasper | Cavalier Rescue FL
< back to home Jasper Donate Gulfport "Pups teach us the purest kind of love." Our sweet Jasper has been in rescue for over one year. In that time, under the loving care and commitment from his furry-godmother (foster mom) and our dedicated partner veterinarians, he has thrived! In the past year, we have seen good progress from our adorably tufted, tail-wagging, tongue-out Jasper, his mobility has greatly improved with hydrotherapy and physical therapy sessions and he loves his therapists, veterinarians, weekly baths and rubber ducks. According to his foster mom and his doctors, he has been at his “peak” of health and happiness since being in rescue. However, a newly discovered malignant tumor has shifted our focus to his comfort and contentment. We know it is in his best interest to not unsettle him at this point. It is with an abundance of love and tenderness that we are going to keep beautiful Jasper in our care for the rest of his precious days in the loving, comfortable foster home he has grown to love and cherish so much. Our Jasper is happy, blissful and in the best and most capable hands of his adoring foster mom and he will enjoy life as a cherished Hart’s Hope pup; Hart’s Hope is our new long term care/hospice program for our elderly and sickly pups. More about this heartwarming initiative will be shared soon.🌟✨ If you want to contribute to Jasper ’s ongoing care and lifelong wellness, please donate here: https://www.cavrescuefl.org/donate-today-cavalier-rescue-florida As always, we appreciate all of you and your boundless care, support and love for our pups. You love them like we do, as if they were your own. We will send Jasper your love and will keep sharing his pup-dates; we haven’t given up on Jasper and neither has he! But, it is better for him to stay in his foster home forever, a true Foster turned Forever! ❤️ Let’s send Jasper and his doting foster mom so much love as they lean into his next steps of care.
